Who we are
Patient Participation Groups are part of a nation-wide organisation and
are linked by the National Association of Patient Participation Groups.
Our group of patients has volunteered to look at things from a patient’s
point of view, so as to help the doctors and other staff and to improve
the smooth running of the surgery. The group meets about eight times a
year on a weekday evening and you are welcome to come as an observer or
to join the group.
Membership normally lasts for one to two years so as to ensure plenty of
fresh ideas and contributions.
Activities include:
• Helping with the annual Patient Satisfaction Questionnaires
• Discussion of current Health Promotion topics
• Working with police, local authorities and others on health topics
such as road safety, personal safety and welfare of groups such as
pensioners and children
• Assisting at the waiting room
• Creating newsletters
• Attending the national conference
