Do you order your repeat prescriptions by fax or via the Hightown website?
From October 2018 we will no longer be accepting repeat prescription requests by fax.
From January 2019 we will no longer be accepting repeat prescription requests via the Hightown website.
Please speak to our Reception Team about signing up for Patient Online Services which is a more secure system.

You can request a prescription either
- by post (please enclose an s.a.e. if you would like it returned to you) or in person. When requesting please tick the required medication on the prescription counterfoil. (If you would like a nominated chemist to collect your prescription please indicate this on your request.

We regret that we are unable to accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions. This is for security and safety purposes.
Please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
We ask that requests for medication to be made approximately a week before you run out, your assistance with this will be much appreciated. Requests made too early may not be processed, however if the early request is due to holiday for example please be sure to notify Reception at the time of making the request so it can be actioned.
Please check all items carefully to ensure they are correct, and if, for any reason, you do not complete a course of medication or it becomes out of date, please return it to your pharmacy for safe disposal.
As part of good clinical practice patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, practice pharmacist, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. At these times the process may take a little longer. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Medication quantity changes - update June 2018
The updated version of Patient Access displays the number of days worth of medication, not for example the number of tablets. In some cases it may show 28 days rather than 56 days. This is a system error. Your repeat prescription should be issued for your correct usual quantity.
New restrictions on prescribing Over-the-Counter medicines
We have been given new guidelines by the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (OCCG) regarding the prescribing of medicines which patients can buy over the counter (OTC) at, for example, the local pharmacy or supermarket.
GP's (and in some cases Nurses) may consider asking you to buy OTC medicines rather than providing you with a prescription.
