Weight loss injection information update

Hightown Surgery is please to announce that the practice has received information about the commissioning of the weight loss service involving the prescribing of weight loss injections (Mounjaro) and has signed up to deliver this service.

The strict criteria to qualify for this tier 4 service is as follows:

A body mass index (BMI) of 40 or more

+

A diagnosis of at least four of the following five conditions

1. Hypertension

2. Sleep apnoea

3. Type 2 diabetes

4. Cardiovascular disease

5. Hypercholesterolemia

❗️If you do not have a BMI above 40 and four of the conditions above your GP will not be able to prescribe you Mounjaro for weight loss (based on the current guidance). Hence, we request that you do not book an appointment to discuss this service.❗️
