We are currently not processing new patient registration requests for those patients who have not moved outside the geographical catchment area of their current or previous GP practice. This is so that we can protect the quality and safety of patient services to our currently registered patients.

Everyone in the UK has the right to free care from a GP. If you don’t have proof of ID or address, you can still register. Immigration status or nationality don’t matter – reception won’t ask for immigration documents and won’t share your information with the Home Office unless serious crime is involved. New Patient Prescriptions
Welcome to Hightown Surgery, if you normally receive regular repeat medication from your previous doctor you will need to make an appointment with a Hightown Pharmacist so that your medication can be reviewed and, if necessary, amended to comply with our own regulations, policies and practice formulary.
Please ensure you obtain a sufficient supply of your medication from your previous doctor to allow you time to make an appointment with one of our Practice Pharmacists.
Please ensure you have four weeks supply from your current GP practice for any medication you take regularly to allow sufficient time to book a routine medical review appointment at Hightown Surgery.
When you have your appointment with your new GP/Practice Pharmacist please let him/her know about your current medication by:
- Providing us a copy of your previous repeat prescription slip
- Providing us a copy of your medication label on your medication box/bottle which has your name, medication dosage and date.
Giving us any correspondence from your previous doctor about your medication and the reason for its use.
This is especially important for those patients who have arrived from abroad and are now registering with an NHS GP.
